Jumaadi’s first institutional solo exhibition in Indonesia, presented by Indonesian-born, Australia-based artist Jumaadi.
Written by Hera Chan and Adi Wicaksono, and complemented by poetry from Afrizal Malna, the exhibition presents a visual universe interwoven with memory, mythology, shadows, and the experience of diaspora. Through paintings, installations, works crafted from buffalo hide, shadow performances, and visual explorations rooted in the traditions of wayang and Balinese Kamasan painting, Jumaadi constructs a poetic landscape that blurs the boundaries between reality and imagination. The exhibition unfolds as a series of open-ended narratives, inviting diverse interpretations and personal reflections.
